I was watching ACA again and they were talking about this new cereal called Protein 1 and Digestive 1 by Goodness Superfoods which claims it improve health. If you haven't watched the segment you can check it out here. The show had alot of good testimonies and stories from people who have tried it and how it has improved their health. So I was curious and went to my local Woolworth and purcahsed a box of Protein 1 BarleyMax. What is BarleyMax?
BarleyMax basically is a type of barley created by CSIRO which claims that it is superior in protein and fibre. BarleyMax is the core ingredient used to create the cereal Protein 1 and Digestive 1. The properties of BarleyMax claims it can improve your health including digestion, better cellgrowth and repair, has vitamins B and E and contains antioxidants for better wellbeing.What it taste like?
I chose to buy Protein 1 as it sounded it suited my needs better as I regularly worked out at the gym and the additional protein would be a bonus. My first impressions of Protein 1 was it smelt like Cocopops or had a hint of cocoa. It tasted sweet, but not very sweet and the flavour was interesting. The grains are quite coarse and crunchy though I found them a bit hard to swallow. I wouldn't say it had wow factor, it was different. Comparing to other cereals, if wasn't for its health claims I probably won't buy it for its taste. However next time I will add some fresh fruits hopefully improve the flavour.Like spearole tea I will give it a good go for 6 months and see if it can really improve my balance, shape and energy levels. I am hoping this cereal will help with my quest to achieve my dream body and I guess help with my insides as well.
